Plans

Our core business is to draw plans. We take pride in producing documents that are easy to read and understand for you, your builders and the council. Clear concise plans are the cornerstone for a smooth running build.

We are available throughout the building process to update documents, as changes require.

 

The first part of the process is a Preliminary Design. This comes from client provided information or in collaboration with us and forms the backbone for the project. Only once the Preliminary Design is locked down can the Complete Plan set for the building consent application be produced.

Design

Design is critical to flow and function in a home. Good design can be identified by not noticing it. Bad design is by contrast quite evident.

At Inside the Square we pride ourselves on collaborating to achieve seamless results that work for you and your family.

 

We can be involved right throughout the design process, or we can assist at various intervals along the way. Often clients will feel comfortable with the council and consent side but will just need a set of compliant plans to their own design. Others are happy to let us drive the design process and liase with them as we go. Either way we will keep things as simple and affordable as possible. We do not get involved in project managing the build but are available to tweak plans throughout the building process.

3D Concepts

A 3D model of your idea can help bring it to life; it can show potential pitfalls in design and bring to light other options at a time when changes are the cheapest to make. They are also a great tool for selling your home, giving perspective to prospective out of town buyers. The virtual models are able to portray a feel of the space without needing to set foot on the property.

 

Building Consent

Council consent can be a scary couple of words but we can help minimize the stress involved. Producing plans that are easy for the ‘Approvers’ to read make the process as smooth as possible. An informed council inspector is a happy one. 

We work locally in the Wellington region but are often travelling throughout New Zealand especially Christchurch and Auckland, most of our projects we can work on remotely.
